Aydan’s Baby Quilt

DSCN1719_1

Here are a few photos of the finished quilt.  My photog daughter instructed me to not be boring.  This was my first time making a “brick” quilt like this and I’m happy with the way it turned out, but also found out that it takes a lot longer to make this than the I-spy quilts.

I have made several name banners, so I’ve got that technique down pretty well.

I started with the banner in the middle and added the bricks to each side then built out from the middle, laying out each row individually, trying to get the right “look” and spreading the colors around.

Making the letters is getting easier the more I do it.  Its a several step process that I won’t detail now, but they are cute, eh?  I already made curtains for the baby’s room out of the Mickey Mouse sheets, so used the left overs for the background.  I hope he enjoys this quilt for many years to come.
